In the work are summarized the long-term (from 1986to 2006) investigations on grass formation of naturalgrasslands of Armenia. It was shown, that the productivity ofgrasses decreased significantly bottom-up along verticalzonality (from 150 to 60 g/m2) and in steppe zone alsoaccording to years studied (from 182 to 98 g/m2). It wasrevealed that the content of crude protein in alpine grasseswas up to twofold higher than in steppe plants, but thedifference between remainder parameters of energy andnutritive values was insignificant.
